FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The Smart Jewelry Showcase, developed by 5Stat, creator of Smart Retail store fixtures using radio-frequency identification technology, is on display at the RFID Research Center Laboratory at the University of Arkansas Sam M. Walton College of Business.

The research center’s laboratory models a production warehouse and retail store that showcases the latest retail and supply chain uses of RFID technology.

The center, which conducts research into the most efficient use of RFID and other wireless and sensor technologies throughout the supply chain, offers tours to interested business representatives on a daily basis.
“We are extremely proud of the Smart Jewelry Showcase and its ability, using RFID technology, to track and trace an item whenever it is taken from the showcase, and we are pleased to be able to have this technology demonstrated to interested vendors and retailers from around the world as part of the University of Arkansas’ RFID research laboratory,” said Larry Chandler, vice president of business development for 5Stat.
The Smart Jewelry Showcase was displayed and demonstrated at a conference held at the research center late last year that focused on how item-level FRID can positively impact loss prevention, inventory accuracy, out of stocks, and cycle count accuracy. Following the conference, arrangements were made for the Smart Jewelry Showcase to become a permanent display in the lab.
